Researching a new option
for Crohn’s disease

Learn about a new, no cost research study

If you’re living with Crohn’s disease, you know the symptoms of a flare-up all too well – abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and even unintended weight loss. Although there are several medications for Crohn’s disease available, they don’t work for everyone, and sometimes cause unwanted side effects.

Right now, doctors at select centers in the US are accepting participants for a new Crohn’s disease research study (the DIONE study). The study is for an oral investigational drug (taken once daily) that may help reduce Crohn’s disease signs and symptoms. The study drug, called TD-1473, is intended to work right within the digestive system to reduce inflammation.

If you’re 18 or older and currently struggling with Crohn’s disease symptoms, you may qualify to participate. If you qualify and join, you will receive the study drug and all study-related care at no cost from a local doctor, and may also be compensated for your time and travel.

Frequent Questions
Clinical studies (also called clinical trials) are used to learn about the safety and effectiveness of new medications, medical devices, and medical procedures. Although there are many types of clinical trials, all must conform to strict rules set by local regulatory authorities. These rules help protect the rights and safety of those who volunteer to take part in clinical trials.
If you qualify and choose to join the DIONE study, you will receive all study-related care at no cost. This includes the study drug, as well as any visits to your study doctor’s office. You may also be reimbursed for your time and travel to attend study visits.
If you qualify and join the study, your participation will last about 11 months and require 12 scheduled visits to your local study center.
Crohn's disease is a chronic, inflammatory condition of the digestive system. Symptoms of Crohn's disease include diarrhea, abdominal pain, and unintended weight loss.
TD-1473 is the study drug being evaluated in the DIONE study. It is an oral study drug taken once daily that is intended to act right within the digestive system to reduce inflammation. The DIONE study will help determine if TD-1473 reduces the signs and symptoms of Crohn's disease.
As with all clinical studies, your participation is completely voluntary and you may choose to leave the study at any time.
